The new helmet created for racing following of the ergonomic and aerodynamic studies conducted by the Dainese Research & Development Department. The result is a helmet with avant-garde technological features capable of combining Dainese protection technology with the extraordinary comfort achieved thanks to an innovative ventilation system that improves the elimination of heat and humidity known as F.F.V. (Free Flow Ventilation) developed after long analysis in wind tunnels and on-track testing using measurement systems that guarantee objective and comparative data. The rider's head is perfectly housed in the helmet thanks to the in-depth ergonomic study that led to the definition of its interiors that accurately follow the head's profile and all its movements. The finest fibre glass bonded to aramidic and carbon fibres was selected for the shell in order to create a strong and lightweight structure. A light helmet limits the acceleration of the head and reduces riding fatigue for greater safety.

SHOCK

- The new shell is in composite fibre obtained by bonding layers of uniaxial fiber glass, carbon, and aramidic fibre together with the Bag Moulding system to provide both strength and light weight. This helmet comes in two sizes.

- The absence of holes on the upper pat of the shell increases structural strength because the continuity of the fibres is unbroken. The sleeker profile also improves aerodynamics.

- The liner in polystyrene foam with central, low-density insert was designed for shock absorption by the distribution of impact over the greatest surface area

MICROCLIMA

- Airstream Course is equipped with a particularly efficient ventilation system called the Free Flow Ventilation System that permits remarkable reductions in internal temperature and humidity levels. The system is composed of:

- FRONT AIR INLETS: positioned on the mouth guard and equipped with shutter closing and wing profiles developed expressly to contain noise levels feed the ventilation system with elevated quantities of fresh air.

- LATERAL FLOW DUCTS: the air that comes from the front air inlets flows through ducts that carry it to the front by passing through the visor attachments.

- UPPER AIR FLOW DUCTS: from the front of the helmet, the air passes over the top of the head and exits the rear openings through special ducts.

- INTERNAL AIR LINER: the liner positioned between the polystyrene and the rider's head is equipped with a special reticulate structure that creates a cavity that permits a consistent ventilation flow.

- The system's efficiency was tested in both wind tunnels and extended road tests in which the temperature and humidity inside the helmet were constantly monitored.

- The test results showed reductions in both the temperature and humidity inside the helmet compared with other ventilation systems.

- The shell and liner were designed according to the latest principles of ergonomics that make the Air Stream Course helmet easy to wear and especially comfortable during riding.

- The cheek pads are interchangeable with others of different sizes to permit perfect the helmet's interior to be perfectly adapted to the rider's face.

- Like the ventilation system, the helmet's aerodynamic features were developed after extended theoretical study and testing in both wind tunnels and on race tracks and the open road.

- The shape of the shell with its two grooves in the upper part helps channel the flows of air to optimise the resistance coefficient and lateral shaking buffeting values.

- The spoiler at the back of the shell also helps keep buffeting values low while lowering noise levels at the same time.
